Vintage Finds

Anytime I have to travel, whether it is for business or for a kids sporting tournment, I always try to find and plan a map of all the antique shops and shows in the surrounding area.

Well, I must say, this time I hit the jackpot! I don't believe I have had this much success in one trip at one time. I found sooooo many wonderful vintage fabrics, notions and goodies I just had to share! I bet alot of you are like me....it's called a "Fabric Hoard"....LOL. Even when I know that I could never actually use it all up in my lifetime...I still end up buying it because I never know if I will find something like it again. So that said, I think I will have to go through all my vintage fabrics and cut 1/4 -1/2yrd pieces (maybe even a yard if I have enough) and sell them on my etsy. I have accumulated so much and can't possibly use it all. So keep a lookout for that.

Here are some of the things I found:
Vintage cream & black netting type fabric, rolls & cards of vintage pink & cream fabric trims, old fabric flowers, wonderful old pink & cream fabrics.
More old fabric flowers but in cream and blues, vintage blue netting, vintage blue stripe and vintage turquoise/blue cotton pom-pom trim. I recommend using old cotton pom-poms cuz they are so much nicer than the new acrylic ones they sell today :)

Vintage blue & cream polka dot fabric, this great old blue print & solid fabric, more cream fabric but this one is more gauze like, some old threads & a cute red & white polka dot fabric belt buckle, and more wonderful vintage fabric trims on rolls.

Vintage dolly clothes! And of course, I had to have this guy for my collection. He is just wonderful and will be a great inspiration too! An incredible vintage old & worn black dog. Looks like he was made from an old mohair coat. He has a swivel head and stuffed with straw. He is quite large...measuring 16" long and 11" high.
I just love how he is all naturally worn down too. He even has these great old worn button eyes.
A handful of awesome vintage collars!
A nice vintage salmon color tin lunch pail and it was filled with buttons.
It also seems I end up buying a little project as well. I already had this darling vintage china head that was just waiting for me to do something with.....well during my treasure hunting, I found this vintage straw stuffed doll body with no head. I brought it home and this morning I attached the head to the body. You can see my rubber band holding it in place until the glue drys overnight......I'm sure you will see quite a bit of this little dolly in some of my bear photoshoots! She is just precious!

Well, with all these great finds....I better get back to work and start using some of this stuff!
Or start dividing up the fabrics and get them on etsy soon :)
