A JURAF........well, the correct spelling is giraffe, but in my whimsical world he is a Juraf !He is my newest design and he truly came out fantastic. Since this guy was my first design that I actually completed....after numerous paper pattern designs & about 4 actual starts...... I think I want to tweek his face a little bit more to give him more "chub" in the cheek. :)

You must know by now, unless you are new to my work, that I pretty much keep the same body design and only work on changing out's my "thing" I guess?! I think because I like the "harmony" a collection brings when the pieces are a little similar yet very unique ........yeah, if that makes any sense to ya..LOL!

This guy happens to be in my 12" size body but because he has a long neck he is actually 15" TALL. I hand tinted brown spots in the giraffe pattern all over his body. And dressed him in my fave theme...A Vintage Circus, of course !

I had a difficult time deciding what to do about the horns giraffes have....omit them or add them. I wanted something unique and whimsical looking, instead of the traditional stuffed horns that I have seen done. So my piece has metal bolts with vintage wood childs toy beads at the top! A really cool look I think :)

Then the other difficult decision was the bristle broom like mane (or hair) the giraffe has on his neck. So I came up with using vintage fabrics for the this leaves the door open for some really funky looking JURAFS in the future...perhaps an old red or blue shabby fabric mane with funky BLOOH spots would be cool? LOL

Well, he is on Ebay right now in case you want to see ALL the pictures and details of my newest design......just click on the Ebay side bar. Oh and it is a 5-day auction and will end this Wednesday May 6th......

Oh ...and here is my inspiration photo...
