Bathroom Vanity Project !!!

As promised...I have some pictures to show you of our master bathroom vanity project that my husband did. My gosh it came out really beautiful...better than I had pictured.

We were at an antique show over the winter and had found this really nice old oak dresser in a booth....the dimensions were a perfect fit for that spot!!! The dresser was in perfect shape and the top even had that barrel or bump out to fit a sink on top. So we just had to buy it.....I think I got a bargain....it only cost me $165. We had been looking in the stores for vanities that had that old antique dresser look but those prices started at $300....so we decided we would keep looking for an antique dresser and fix it ourselves. Well after a couple years....TAH DAH...we finally found one!

We purchased the vessal sink and faucet at the hardware store. Plus new lighting but that was it.
He put a coat of that really heavy epoxy stuff (like on bar tops) onto the top of the dresser so that there will be no chance of water stains ruining the wood surface.
Each of the drawers had to be revamped and cut out so that they were funtional because of the plumbing that had to be put down inside it. Now all the drawers can be opened and you can store things inside them.

The mirror was given to us by my MIL. It is sooooooo heavy. It's one of those old gesso gold gilded frames.......just awesome and goes perfect with the theme of old victorian bath. Our master bathroom has really high vaulted ceilings and behind that plant is my walk in closet on the otherside of that 3/4 wall. My husband had that wonderful old shelf that he got from one of his contracting jobs and he cut it down to fit the space.

The only major thing we have to finish is the shower. Plus put trim and switchplates......but it's almost done...it's just like having a half bath.....with 4 people (2 being teenage daughters) we really needed an extra sink & toilet in the house!!! Just can't wait unil we get that shower done....seems I'm always the last one in the shower and I end up with the COLD WATER!!!
