She says that this one is just getting started......can't wait to see the finished results! Way to Go Mary!
Her latest Rocking horse restoration - there's another 4 waiting in the wings in various states of disrepair. This one is "Whistler", named after her favourite artist, is about 1880, 40" high with stand and very rare. When she striped him down his joints were covered in layers of old news paper, some of the print was legible. He needed new ears and eyebrows and finding the correct shape took a lot of detective work as reference material is rare. Whistler is resting now for a few months whilst his gesso cures then the fun bit starts - painting and deciding the colour for his mane, tail and tack.
And so it is ....that if you collect .... then you probably also do some sort of art! :) ....feel free to drop me a note and share your art ....I love to see what others are making or doing.....and I'll try to post here for all to see. Or if you have a collection you would like to share too!

Oh Wendy! What an amazing work she's doing!!! I just love it! On such a smaller, much more lame scale, I took one of those little horses that small children get on and ride with the metal frame and springs? I used a large drapery pole and finial, drilled a hole through the horse's back and check, ran the pole through and painted him in the prettiest pastel creams, pale pinks and blues to go in my sister-in-law's baby nursery!! I'll have to post a photo. Hope you are doing well, I love it when you post! xxoo, Dawn

Wendy,
THis is amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing!!! I have a thing for antique Rocking Horses, but it will be a long time before I ever will own one. They are worth so much! This just warms my heart to know that someone is repairing them so beautifully!
Many Blessings,
Tink
