Introducing a NEW DESIGN.......

A whimsical French Bulldog ! It's my rendition of the antique papier mache french bulldog pull toys from the 1900's. I have had this project in the works for a very long time, pretty much since I introduced my pug design, and I finally made myself just do it. If you are familiar with early antiques, then you know about the early antique papier mache french bulldog pull toys from the 1900's......they are very CREEPY yet I love them! They wear a badger hair collar and a pull chain that opens the mouth. I have always wanted to make one but in my own whimsical style.

After spending endless hours on developing the paper pattern design and so many attempts at making the head just they way I wanted......I finally got it to the way I wanted it! I did alot of hand needle sculpting to his jowls and mouth plus trying to make him look "old & dirty with age" was yet another challenge. I also wanted to put the "badger hair collar" on him but didn't want to actually use badger hair.....so I found some materials and made my version ...also since he is suppose to represent the pull toy with the pull chain....I added the old chain to give him a more authentic look.

I really am totally pleased at this finished piece and very reluctant to let him go. My hubby talked me into putting him on ebay.......so that's where he is now .....he is listed as a 5-day auction with no reserve.
